Behind the e-shop stands Jan Dohnal, a long-time terrarium keeper and reptile breeder with experience from professional husbandry in zoos. For many years he focused mainly on keeping venomous snakes at Plzeň Zoo, where he worked with demanding reptile species and took part in running specialised exhibitions, including the Kingdom of Venom.

His experience comes not only from ordinary terrarium practice, but also from work in zoos, field projects and the protection of endangered species. Among other things, he worked at Paphos Zoo in Cyprus, where he took part in creating a unique exhibition of venomous snakes. A significant part of his work was also the protection of the rare Latifi's viper (Montivipera latifii) in Iran. As part of a Plzeň Zoo project, he was involved in mapping and monitoring this endemic species in Lar National Park, in fieldwork and in public education.

Thanks to more than twenty years of experience with keeping reptiles, he is able to combine the practical view of a terrarium keeper with the demands of professional husbandry. The goal of the e-shop is therefore not just to sell terrarium equipment, but to offer products that make sense in terms of animal biology, husbandry safety and the long-term functionality of the terrarium.
