UVB lighting

UVB lighting is an essential part of proper husbandry for many diurnal reptiles. Thanks to UVB radiation, animals can produce vitamin D3, which helps them use calcium — important for healthy bones, shell, growth and reproduction. Without suitable UVB, some species may gradually suffer serious health problems, even if they otherwise receive quality food. When choosing, it is important to consider the species, terrarium size, distance from the basking spot, the type of mesh and regular replacement of the source, because UVB output decreases over time.
